1. Reduced class sizes

A maximum of ten people in a class, affording students the attention that this technical discipline requires. My classes are all MAT based. I use magic circles, medium-sized balls, Therabands and sometimes light weights. All my equipment is from Merrithew, which is largely considered the best quality on the market.

2. Inexpensive

Pilates often alienates would-be partakers because it is expensive. This is ironic because it started as a tool to help all types of people with ill health starting with the creator himself. I would like to help people to afford to do Pilates, and to experience its myriad physical and mental benefits, so my classes are very accessibly priced.

3. Structure

All my group classes follow a 6-week structure, with each week dedicated to a different topic. After your first class, I will email you a PDF and tell you which week we are currently in. Every 6 weeks a new PDF is released. The PDF includes suggested homework. Little and often! I also encourage you to send me a little video or photo of you homework sessions. I will encourage you, fine tweak you, and post you online (with your permission!).

4. A little something extra

From ice for my cyclists arriving fresh off the bike, to cava on ice for my Sunday evening rooftop clients, I like to go the extra mile to give a little zing to my Pilates workouts. During Beach Barre classes you might see the Fulton umbrellas suddenly appear (no such thing as bad weather just not enough protection!).

Sometimes wireless fitness Headphones will appear, particularly when we are outside. They are pretty cool and they are a great way to zone in. You can hear me both my instructions and music at the same time. For Corporate Pilates, the option exists to switch between Spanish and English. I call it The CPB Extra.

5. Respect for Pilates’ roots

I am proud to be trained in the STOTT Pilates method which draws on the classical roots of the exercises as Joseph Pilates designed them, including updated contemporary twists over the years but only those which improve upon the founding principles from a scientific research angle. If I veer from tradition with my exercises or tradition, there is always a reason and I will always explain it.
