“Piletics” classes

Pilates for Runners

What?

50 minutes of Pilates exercises considered most beneficial to runners owing to muscle recruitment in this sport, and frequent weakness of the runner. I will also suggest personalised exercises for each person according to perceived body mechanics and injury history (if any!).

You will have time to practice these during a 20-minute “Personalised Pilates free time” slot in the second half of the class, before stretching at the end. When I am working one-to-one with one person the rest of the class practices their own personal exercises and I will go round checking on each person.

This class also incorporates an advanced tool for athletes — Red Cord. If you like it you can work with me in a more personalised way during a one-to-one session using it (I only have one as they are super expensive!).

The CPB extra

After your first class when I have been able to take a look at you, you will be WhatsApped your own personal exercises which you are encouraged to practise at home as many days, and as many times a day as possible. I will send you reminders and encourage you to send me photos/videos of you in action!

Pilates helped me focus on key areas of stability and conditioning that are important but often neglected by marathoners... Pilates also helped at the end of races where I needed my core to be strong and my form and posture maintained.
